Eirini Gavrilaki

Eirini Gavrilaki was born in Piraeus in the early 1960s. She has been working as an archaeologist at the Ephorate of Antiquities of Rethymno since 1986, following her studies in Athens and Montpellier, which culminated in a doctorate from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In her professional capacity, she excavates, publishes archaeological material, and engages in Museum Education. Through literature, she mirrors this process in her life: she excavates within herself and presents her findings, narrating what cannot be forgotten, which is to say, what is true. Her first book, "From the Material Dolls Are Made Of," was published by Astarti in 2013, and her second, "The Nights Before," was published by Nautilos Libertarian Editions - Thessaloniki, in 2015.
