Tony Parsons

Tony Parsons was born in November 1953 in Romford, UK. He gained recognition as a journalist for music publications such as "New Musical Express" (NME, both a magazine and now a website), as a television producer, and as an author of books addressing the issues faced by modern men. He has contributed to magazines and newspapers including "The Face," "Marie Claire," "Arena," "Elle," "The Spectator," "GQ," "Mirror," "Daily Mail," "The Guardian," "The Daily Telegraph," "The Sunday Times," as well as the BBC television program "Late Review," and has produced numerous television documentaries. His early novels, "The Kids" (1976), "Platinum Logic" (1981), and "Limelight Blues" (1983), went relatively unnoticed by the public. Success came with his 1999 novel "Man and Boy" (Greek edition: "Και τώρα, μόνος με το γιο μου," Psichogios 2002), which included autobiographical elements, as Parsons himself took custody of his child following his divorce. The book gradually became a publishing success, selling over 1 million copies in the UK, translated into 39 languages, and received accolades such as the British Book Awards Book of the Year in 2001 and the Butler & Tanner Book of the Year. His relationship with success continued, albeit diminishing, with subsequent books "One For My Baby" (2001), "Man and Wife" (2003, Greek edition: "Ζητείται ιδανική σύζυγος," 2004), "The Family Way" (2004), "Stories We Could Tell" (2006), "My Favourite Wife" (2008), "Starting Over" (2009), "Men From the Boys" (2010). With "The Murder Bag" (2014, Greek edition: "Ο σάκος του φόνου," Metaichmio 2016), he launched a new thematic series of noir novels featuring detective Max Wolfe. This was followed by novels in the same vein, "The Slaughter Man" (2015, Greek edition: "Τιμωρός," Metaichmio 2017) and "The Hanging Club" (2016, Greek edition: "Οι εκτελεστές," Metaichmio 2018).
