
Dimitris Kosmopoulos
Dimitris Kosmopoulos was born in Kontogoni (Papaflessas), Pylia, in Messinia, in 1964. He grew up in Kalamata. He studied Law and Theology. Kosmopoulos is a poet, essayist, and translator. For many years, he has been a producer of literary programs on the radio. He has published nine poetry books and three essay books on literature and criticism. His essays, translations, and critical texts have been published in all literary magazines and newspapers. His poems have been translated into major European languages and Arabic, and have been included in Greek and international anthologies. In 2005, he was awarded the "Lambros Porphyra" Greek Lyric Poet Award by the Academy of Athens, and in 2013, the International C. P. Cavafy Award for his entire poetic work. His poetry book "Theristron" (Kedros, 2018) received the Poetry Prize from the Kostas and Eleni Ouranis Foundation of the Academy of Athens and the Jean Moréas Poetry Prize. He lives and works in Athens and is the editor of the literary magazine "Nea Efthyni."
