
Alain De Botton
Alain de Botton was born in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1969 and grew up in Switzerland and England. He speaks French, German, and English. "How Proust Can Change Your Life" was first published in 1997 and has been translated into more than thirty languages, a success that his subsequent books have also enjoyed. His other works include "Essays in Love" (1993), "The Romantic Movement" (1994), "Kiss and Tell" (1995), "The Consolations of Philosophy" (2000), "The Art of Travel" (2001), "Status Anxiety" (2004), "The Architecture of Happiness" (2006), "The Pleasures and Sorrows of Work" (2009), and "The Consolations of Philosophy" (2010). He teaches philosophy at London University. He is the founder of The School of Life (www.theschooloflife.com) and oversees the book series of the same name, which is published in Greek by Patakis Publishers.
