Nikos Lazaris
Nikos Lazaridis was born in 1947 in Nikaia, Piraeus, but spent his childhood in Lykovrysi, where he currently resides. He studied journalism and film. Professionally, he initially worked in journalism (as a journalist for major Athenian newspapers and magazines) and later in advertising (as a copywriter and creative director in multinational advertising agencies). He also served as the artistic director at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Lykovrysi (1994-2002) and as the director at the "Takis Sinopoulos Foundation - Study Center for Modern Greek Poetry" (2003-2006). He made his literary debut in 1974 with four poems in the volume "Katathesi '74." This was followed by the poetry collections "The Depth of Soda Water," 1975, "The Forest of Explosions," 1978, "Erotograph," 1981, "The Trees Run Fast," 1985, the collected edition "The Depth of Soda Water and Other Poems: 1975-1985," 1995 (not for sale), "The Invisible Thread," Parousia, 2002, and the new collected edition "The Intensity is Continuous: Poems 1975-2002," Typothito, 2007. He served on the editorial board of the literary magazines "Grammata kai Technes" and "Planodion," and as a literary critic, he collaborates with "Nea Estia" and "Planodion." His poems have been translated into foreign languages. He is a member of the Society of Authors.
