Giorgos Rousopoulos

George Roussopoulos, Professor Emeritus at the University of Crete, taught philosophy, philosophy of science, and mathematical analysis at the Technical University of Crete, as well as epistemology in the Department of Philosophical and Social Studies at the University of Crete. He was born in 1951 in Volos. He studied mathematics at the University of Thessaloniki and philosophy in the USA and the UK. He earned a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Rochester and then a master's degree in philosophy from the University of California. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Ioannina. He was a postgraduate scholar of the British Council at the University of Oxford. He has translated Quine's "Philosophy of Logic" (2008), published articles in the fields of epistemology, philosophy of science, and philosophy of mathematics, and authored the books: "Epistemology of Mathematics" (1990), "Mathematical Realism" (1999), "Analytical Representation" (1998), and "Epistemology" (2009). Additionally, he has edited the volumes "Truth" (2002) and "Contemporary Empiricism" (2008). His first literary work is "Time for a Novel."
