
Orestis N. Manousos
Orestis Manousos was born in Anogeia, Crete. He studied Medicine at the University of Thessaloniki and specialized in Pathology and Gastroenterology at hospitals in London, Oxford, and New York. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (D. Phil) from the University of Oxford and is an Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the University of Crete. He has co-authored the medical textbooks "Introduction to Clinical Medicine" with Professor Theodoros Mountokalakis, "The Immunology of Enteropathies" with Professor Ioanna Oikonomidou, as well as the book titled "Colitis and 'Colitis'." He has also published numerous articles on digestive system disorders. In recent years, he has focused on writing books related to the history of Crete, including "The Son of Zacharenia," "The Old Anogeians," and "Eumenia: Life and Times of the Cretan Sultana Eumenia Vergitsi."
