Anna THeofani

Anna Theofani (the pen name of Sofia Pistofidi) was born in 1953 in Thessaloniki, where she has lived and worked since 1986. In the 1970s, at the age of twenty-one, she moved to Athens, where she worked for publishing houses, translating and editing literary texts. She traveled to England and, in 1982, to Madrid, where she attended journalism courses at Complutense University for four years. Her first poetry collection, "Poems of Decline," which includes some of her earlier works, won an award at the Lions Metropolitan competition in Thessaloniki in 1992. The book "Iambs of Departures: A Search in White" is her second poetic endeavor.
