Alexandra Karadimou - Gerolympou

Aleka Karadimou-Gerolymbou studied architecture in Thessaloniki and urban planning in Paris, where she worked for many years in architectural firms. Since 1976, she has been teaching urban design and the history of urban planning at the School of Architecture at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is involved in design and historical research and has published numerous studies on the urban history of settlements in Greece, the Balkans, and the Ottoman Empire. She has collaborated on studies about Thessaloniki and actively participates in citizen movements and initiatives aimed at improving the urban space.
