Philomila Lapata was born in Athens in 1952. She studied public relations, speaks foreign languages, and has traveled extensively. She lives between Greece and Italy. In the past, she worked at the American Embassy and in a bank. Inspired by the experiences she gained from her travels and her efforts to understand human nature and the dynamics of relationships, she was drawn to writing early on. In Italy, she was honored with the "Citta di Bacoli" (ancient Cuma) award in 2005 and the Premio Internazionale per la Cultura "Sebetia-Ter" in 2006. The complexity of interpersonal relationships has long been a focus of hers, and this contemplation is reflected in her books.
