Mikael Niemi

Mikael Niemi, born in 1959, made his debut with the publishing house Norstedts in 1988 with the poetry collection "Broken Nose at Mass." In 1989, he followed it with a second collection: "Angels with Mauser Rifles." Subsequently, Niemi achieved great success with children's and young adult books, as well as with theatrical performances and revues. He soon became well-known in the artistic circles of his native region, the northern province of Norrland. With this novel, which is also his first, Niemi became beloved and recognized worldwide. He was awarded the "August" prize and the literary award from the magazine "VI." Niemi was also elected "Resident of the Year" in the Norrbottning region.
