
Giorgos N. Maniotis
Born in Athens in 1951, he studied law at the University of Thessaloniki. In addition to prose literary works, he has written numerous plays that have been repeatedly staged in Athens. Some of his well-known plays include: "The Match," "Common Sense," "Lessons Learned," "The Pit of Sin," "The Spouses," "Krystallos Dances Mambo," "Sedentary Life," "Holidays in Ouranoupoli," "Order and Disorder," among others. His notable prose works include: "The Unknown Soldier" (a mystery novella), "The Black Fairy Tales" (Second State Short Story Award, 1998), "The Terrible Protection" (novel), "Here Are the Roses, Mom" (short stories), "The Winter Repertoire," "The Spring Repertoire" (thrillers), "The Cunning Path" (novel), "Adrenaline Always High" (novel), "The Sappho's Chanteys" (short stories), "Dad's Lawn" (novel), "Cow with Wings" (novel), "Forty Waves" (novel). He is also involved in directing. He served as the vice president of the National Theatre from 2013 until the early months of 2015.
