THodoris Papatheodorou

Theodoros Papatheodorou was born in Dikaia, Evros, in 1965 and currently resides in Athens. He studied pedagogy at the Democritus University of Thrace and worked as a teacher in primary education. For several years, he contributed to Athenian newspapers, filling daily content gaps with satirical commentary. In 2002, out of modesty, he ended his career in the press to focus on substantial work. His novel "The Starflower of the Bosphorus" (2004) was awarded the Best Memory Work Award 2003-2004 at the 20th Panhellenic Symposium of Poetry and Prose, while his novel "The Seven Skies of Happiness" (2006) received an award for Greek novels. His novel "The Daughters of Oblivion" was nominated for the Readers' Award by the National Book Centre of Greece (EKEBI) in 2010, and his novel "The Times of Memory" was nominated for the same award in 2012, securing second place in votes from readers and book clubs. To date, he has published sixteen novels for adults (most recently "Women of the Small Homeland" and "Lianokeria of the Small Homeland," Psychogios 2018), four novels for children, and two books for early school-age children, and has participated in three collective volumes of short stories. He is also involved in writing screenplays and theatrical plays. Under the pseudonym Thanos Dragoumis, he has authored the political thrillers "Thessaloniki Slaughterhouse" (2011), "Black Dawn" (2013), and "Honorable Scoundrels" (2017).
