Antony Spawforth

Tony Spawforth is a Professor of Ancient History at Newcastle University and Honorary Director at the Shefton Museum of Greek Art. His works include the new edition of the "Oxford Classical Dictionary" (1996), which he edited, as well as "Greece: An Oxford Archaeological Guide" (2001), which he co-authored. As a former Assistant Director of the British School at Athens, he participated in numerous excavations in Greece, including the Sanctuary of Helen and Menelaus in Sparta. He is also the presenter of the BBC television series "Ancient Voices."
