Giannis Kyriopoulos

Giannis Kyriopoulos was born in Patras and studied medicine and epidemiology at the University of Athens. He pursued postgraduate studies in Public Health, Social Policy, and Health Economics. Since 1985, he has been a Professor and Director of the Health Economics Department. In September 2011, he was elected Dean of the National School of Public Health for the fourth time. He has also served as a Consultant and Expert for International Organizations and has been actively involved in the countries of the Balkan Peninsula and the Black Sea. He has received honorary distinctions from international organizations and foreign universities. His research interests focus on Health Economics, Health Policies, and Social Policy and Insurance. Additionally, his academic activities include presenting papers at national and international conferences and publishing articles in scientific and specialized editions in the field of health economics and policy. He has served on the board of directors of many international public health and health services management organizations, such as the European Health Care Management Association (EHMA), the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER), and the International Association of Health Economics. He is also the President of the Federation for International Cooperation of Health Services and Systems Research Centers (FICOSSER) and the Founder and Honorary President of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Society for Health Services Management (EEDYY) and the Hellenic Scientific Society for Pharmacoeconomics (EEEF).
