Michael Osterholm

The former state epidemiologist of Minnesota and former head of Health Protection companies, as well as former President of ICAN. For the past twenty years, he has been recognized worldwide as a leading epidemiologist in the field of infectious diseases. He has been repeatedly honored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He served as a personal advisor to the late former King Hussein of Jordan on bioterrorism issues. He has led many successful investigations into outbreaks of infectious diseases of global interest. He frequently lectures around the world. Currently, he is the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy and a professor at the School of Public Health, University of Minnesota.
