Panos Karnezis

Panos Karnezis was born in Amaliada in 1967. He studied engineering in Greece and pursued postgraduate studies in England after 1992, where he worked in the industry for a period. Simultaneously, he began writing literature in English and attended the renowned creative writing master's program at the University of East Anglia (from which notable authors such as Ian McEwan and Kazuo Ishiguro have graduated). His first book, the short story collection "Little Infamies," was published in 2002 by Jonathan Cape, received excellent reviews, was translated into eight languages, and was transcribed into Greek by the author himself. The novel "The Maze," published in 2004, followed a similar path, was shortlisted for the Whitbread First Novel Award, and won the Pendleton May First Novel Award. His third novel, "The Birthday Party," was published by Jonathan Cape in 2007. His short stories have been broadcast in England on the BBC Radio 4 program and have appeared in magazines such as "Granta," "New Writing 11," "Prospect," and "Arete." Since 1992, he has lived in London and is dedicated to writing. His books are available in Greek, translated by the author.
