David Graeber

David Graeber (February 12, 1961 - September 2, 2020), an anthropologist, taught at the London School of Economics. He had also taught at Goldsmiths, University of London, and at Yale in the United States, from which he was effectively dismissed for political reasons, defending a graduate student who was targeted by the university administration due to her involvement in efforts to create a graduate student union there. David Graeber identified as an anarchist and participated in contemporary social movements such as the Direct Action Network and, more recently, Occupy Wall Street.
