Dimitris Giannoukakis

Dimitris Giannoukakis, a playwright, humorist, and satirical poet, was born in Athens in 1899. He studied Law and, from 1930, worked as a journalist, writing for most of the newspapers and magazines of the time. His works have been adapted for the stage—totaling 235 pieces, primarily comedies and one-act plays. He passed away in Athens in 1974 and is remembered not only for his comedies but also for laying the foundations in the development of a theatrical technique and language.
