Ioanna Ampatzi

Ioanna Abatzi graduated from the Department of French Language and Literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and continued her postgraduate studies in the Departments of Theater and Film at Washington State University and the University of Kansas. Recently, she also earned a second master's degree in Creative Writing (University of Western Macedonia, Florina) with a focus on Children's Literature. Beyond her teaching experience, she has been involved in writing and the arts for many years. She has worked as a set designer and scenic painter in America and has participated in various visual arts and painting exhibitions in Greece. Her short plays have been performed in schools in Thessaloniki and Edessa. A student of Mimi Soulioti, Titos Patrikios, and Thanasis Valtinos, she has won several literary competitions for both her poetry and short stories. Recently, she received the first prize in poetry at the Panhellenic competition of the "Georgios Papathanasiou Archive of History and Art," chaired by the poet Katerina Anghelaki-Rooke.
