
Sue Monk Kidd
Sue Monk Kidd is the author of the highly successful memoirs "The Dance of the Dissident Daughter" and "When the Heart Waits." She has won the Poets & Writers Award for the first piece of the story featured in the novel "The Secret Life of Bees," as well as the Katherine Anne Porter Award and a Bread Loaf Fellowship. Her short stories have been published in several literary magazines, and two of her works—including an excerpt from "The Secret Life of Bees"—were featured in the collection "Best American Short Stories." She resides in Charleston, South Carolina. "The Secret Life of Bees" is her debut novel, which has achieved great success in America.
