Konstantinos Stavrou Ganotis was born in Volos in 1933 and studied at the School of Philosophy at the University of Athens. He served for two years as an assistant in the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Philology at the University of Athens. He worked as a philologist in high schools in Cyprus and Euboea and as a principal in the high schools of Keratsini and Kolonos. In 1983, following the abolition of ancient Greek teaching in high schools, he founded the so-called "secret schools" in the churches of Kolonos, where, with the collaboration of his wife and other colleagues, ancient Greek was taught in a manner and with text selections that became a model for the creation of textbooks, which led to the reinstatement of ancient Greek teaching in high schools. He collaborated with the radio stations of the Church of Greece and the Piraeus Church. He regularly speaks at spiritual gatherings in the churches of Saint Andrew on Lefkosia Street and Saint George in Kypseli, as well as at parent schools in various churches in Athens and the provinces. As a member of the committee for the teaching of the Ecclesiastical language, he composed analyses of liturgical texts for the teaching of the liturgical language. He is a member of the synodal committee for cultural identity. Recently, he was honored by the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece with the Golden Cross of Apostle Paul for his work in the interpretation and teaching of the liturgical language.
