Myrsini Vigopoulou

Myrsini Viggopoulou was born and raised in Thessaloniki. She made her debut in children's literature with the book "From Egopolis to Youpolis," which went through multiple editions and was beloved by children and parents alike. Her book has traveled around the world and is currently available in the United States, England, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, and Arab countries, with a French edition in preparation. In 2003, she was awarded the First Prize in the short story category at the Panhellenic Competition organized by the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the Thessaloniki Aeroclub, with the theme "One Hundred Years of Airplane." In 2007, she received the first prize for prose from the Union of Writers of Northern Greece for her novel "Children of Macedonia: Yesterday and Today," which is now published under the title "Once Upon a Time in Macedonia." Myrsini Viggopoulou was honored in December 2014 with a special distinction from the Archdiocese of Athens for her long-standing and quality contribution to children's literature. Her works have been adapted and presented in theatrical performances in many parts of the world.
