Giannis Andrikopoulos

Giannis Andrikopoulos
Giannis Andrikopoulos was born in 1930 in Aigio and, from the age of seventeen, devoted his life, thoughts, and soul to two great loves: literature and journalism. He began in 1947 with poetry in the pages of Sp. Melas' "Greek Creation." He was the youngest contributor to the magazine. Within two to three years, his poems were published in all reputable literary magazines. In 1952, he published the literary magazine "Achaiki Estia" and in 1954, the newspaper "Voice of Aigio." His writing career is divided into three distinct periods. The first began in 1954 with his first poetry collection "Separation" and concluded in 1968. This was a period of pure poetic inspiration, during which a total of eight poetry collections were published. The second period of his writing career started in 1975 with the publication of the newspaper "Voice of Achaia" and the literary magazine "Philological Voice," where leading figures of modern Greek literature and regional writers collaborated. This period lasted until 1987, when both the newspaper and magazine ceased publication. The third, exceptionally fruitful and productive period began in 1988 and continues to this day. During these years, he has excelled in contemporary poetry and critical essays. He is a member of the National Society of Greek Writers, the International Society of Literary Critics, the Hellenic Society of Christian Letters, the Society of Friends of Pan. Kanellopoulos, and the Society of Writers of Southwestern Greece. He collaborates with all Greek and Greek-speaking literary magazines and has delivered over 40 lectures in various cities across the country.
