Kostas N. Plastiras

Poet and scholar of modern Greek literature. He studied economics, library science, and philology in Greece and France. He holds a Ph.D. in Philology from the School of Philosophy at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and serves as the director of the Library of the Society for Macedonian Studies. In his doctoral dissertation titled "The Literary Movement in Thessaloniki: Initial Formations (1850-1912)," he classifies, analyzes, and describes the literary activities of Greek creators during the years of Ottoman rule. He first appeared with poetry publications in the magazine "Nea Poreia" in 1970. He has published poems, articles, studies, and essays, participated in conferences, symposia, and discussions in Greece and abroad, and has delivered lectures related to his scientific and literary interests. His philological studies place particular emphasis on the study of creators from Thessaloniki and Macedonia, the bibliography of literary and periodical publications, and he collaborates as a key contributor to literary, philological, and historical journals.
