Electrical Engineer from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Ph.D. in Digital Signal Processing from NTUA, M.Sc. in History & Philosophy of Science from the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Athens. Researcher at the Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP) from 1992 to 2009. Professor of Informatics and History & Philosophy of Science at the Department of Library Science & Information Systems at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens from 1998 to the present. Lecturer in Databases in the Inter-University Postgraduate Program 'Technoglossia' of NTUA and the University of Athens from 2001 to 2013. Instructor in Teacher Training Programs in 2003. Instructor of Informatics courses at the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government (EKDDA) from 2005 to 2010. Scientific interests: philosophy, history of science, history of ideas, philosophy of science, philosophy of information, logic, history of logic, estimation of the order of natural models, noise reduction from voice and biological signals, databases, ontologies, semantic search on the World Wide Web.
