Soti Triantafyllou

Soti Triantafyllou was born in Athens in 1957. She studied pharmacy in Athens, history and cultures in Paris, the history of the American city in New York, as well as French literature in Athens. She has authored short story collections ("Days That Resembled Tangerine," "The Elevated Train to Stilwell," "Alphabet City"), books on cinema ("Filmed Cities," "History of World Cinema 1976-1992," "New English Cinema," "Contemporary French Cinema," "François Truffaut," "John Cassavetes," "Michael Haneke," etc.), novels ("Saturday Night at the Edge of Town," 1996, "Tomorrow, Another Country," 1997, "The Underground Sky," 1998, "The Pencil Factory," 2000, "Poor Margo," 2001, "Albatross," 2003, "Chinese Boxes," 2006, "A Little of Your Blood," 2011, "For the Love of Geometry," 2012, "Rare Earths," 2013, "The End of the World in an English Garden," 2017), most of which became bestsellers, novellas: "Letter from Alaska," "Death at Dawn," "The Escape," "Forgiveness," "Pittsburgh," "The Burial of Ophelia," "Mechanical Waterfalls," autobiographical books: "Time Again," "Shiny Fields," children's books: "Marion on the Silver Islands and the Red Forests," "Letter from a Dragon," "Milena and the Horrible Fish," "The Ancient Greeks Stick Their Noses Everywhere," "The Ancient Greeks Stick Their Noses Everywhere (Again)" and for teenagers and young adults: "African Diary," "Talking with Alice about Philosophy and the Meaning of Life," "Talking about Expression and Essay." Together with Elias Ioakeimoglou, she co-authored the books: "Left-Wing Terrorism, Democracy and the State" and "For the Flag and the Nation." On her own, she wrote the book "Pluralism, Multiculturalism, Integration, Assimilation." Her articles in the newspaper "Athens Voice" were compiled into volumes: "The Terrible Turn of Events," 2012, "The Eleventh Hour," 2014, "Exercises in Tranquility," 2015, "The Difficulties of the Plains," 2017.
