CHristos N. Tsironis

Christos N. Tsironis was born and completed his secondary education in Thessaloniki. He is a graduate of the School of Theology (Department of Theology) and the School of Philosophy (Department of Philosophy-Pedagogy) at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His postgraduate and doctoral studies focused on issues of theology, ethics, sociology, and social theory. His main research areas during his further education included poverty in the EU, the analysis of social exclusion phenomena in Late Modernity, and the role of education, social, and religious institutions in combating them. In 2002, he earned his doctorate in the Department of Ethics and Sociology of the Theology Department at Aristotle University. He studied in Freiburg, Germany (Padagogische Hochschule Freiburg 1994-1995, Katholische FachHochschule Freiburg 1998-1999), attending courses in Social Theory, Sociology, and Theology. He also received extensive training through the educational programs of the Council of Europe ("Advanced Course for Trainers HRE", "Training Trainers in HRE", "Long Term Training Course: Intercultural Learning", etc.). He has authored articles on topics of social theory, theology, epistemology, and research. He has worked as a trainer and social researcher in national and international research and training programs. Additionally, he has worked as a student advisor, organized social support programs in prisons, schools in disadvantaged areas, and youth centers. He has participated in various social programs as an army sociologist, professional, or scientific coordinator for combating social exclusion, illegal child trafficking, and the training of educators and social service staff. He has participated in national and international scientific conferences and has published scientific articles in collective works of Greek and foreign publications. Since 2009, he has been a lecturer in the Department of Theology (Social Theory of Contemporary Culture).
