Josiah Ober

Josiah Ober (1953) is a professor of Classics and Political Science at Stanford University. He studied history at the University of Michigan and the University of Minnesota. He has taught at Montana State University and Princeton University. His most important works include: Mass and Elite in Democratic Athens: Rhetoric, Ideology, and the Power of the People (Princeton University Press, 1989 [= Masses and Elites in Democratic Athens, trans. V.
