Maximos CHarakopoulos

Maximos Charakopoulos is a Doctor of Sociology and a historical researcher. He was born in Larissa in 1968. He is married to Dr. Liza Kontou, and they have a son. He studied sociology at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. In the summer of 1989, he attended Turkish language courses at the University of Istanbul on a scholarship from the Ministry of Education. Two years later, he was accepted for postgraduate studies at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Constantinople. In June 2003, he was awarded a Doctorate in Sociology from Panteion University. He was elected as a Member of Parliament for Larissa in the elections of March 7, 2004, September 16, 2007, and October 4, 2009. He participates in the Committee on European Affairs as well as the Standing Committee on Production and Trade of the Parliament. He is a speaker at conferences and seminars. His articles are published in the Athenian and regional press.
