Giorgos CHronas

Giorgos Chronas was born in October 1948 in Piraeus. Since his literary debut in 1973, he has published twenty-two (22) books, including poetry, prose, and plays. He works in radio for the Third Programme and has previously worked for the Second and First Programmes of the Hellenic Radio. His poems and prose have been translated into various languages. One hundred and twenty (120) of his songs have been set to music by Greek composers. Since February 1981, he has been publishing the magazine "Odos Panos," along with the eponymous publishing house and "Cigarette Editions," which released 490 books by December 2014. He was responsible for the "Library-Game Refuge" supplement in the "Eleftherotypia" newspaper every Saturday from 2009 to 2011. In 2011, he received the Cavafy Award. In 2013, he was honored by the Municipality of Piraeus for his contribution to Greek literature. He lives and works in Athens.
