CHristina Koulouri
Christina Koulouri is a Professor of Modern and Contemporary History in the Department of Political Science & History at Panteion University. She studied at the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Athens. She pursued postgraduate studies in Paris at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales and the University of Sorbonne (Paris I - Panthéon - Sorbonne), where she completed her doctoral dissertation in 1990. In 1994, she was awarded the Nikos Svoronos Prize for her writing and research work. She has taught in the Departments of History and Archaeology at the University of Crete, History and Ethnology, Primary Education, and Early Childhood Education at the Democritus University of Thrace, and Social and Educational Policy at the University of the Peloponnese. In 2010, she was a visiting professor and researcher at the University of Sorbonne. Since June 1999, she has coordinated the History Education Committee of the Center for Democracy and Reconciliation in Southeast Europe (Thessaloniki). In June 2005, she edited four volumes of supplementary educational material for teaching history in all Balkan countries, published in English. This work has been translated into Greek, Serbian, Albanian, Croatian, Bosnian, Turkish, and Japanese. She was the scientific coordinator for the classification, electronic recording, and digitization of the Historical and Photographic Archive of the Hellenic Olympic Committee. She has published books and articles in Greek, English, and French on the teaching of history, school textbooks, the formation of Greek national identity and historical memory, and the history of sports and the Olympic Games.
