Ageliki Darlasi
Born in 1973 in Athens, where she grew up and currently lives with her husband and their two sons. She studied Theatre Studies (Department of Theatre Studies, University of Athens), Performing Arts (M.A. at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama), and creative writing (in Athens and London). She has directed theatrical and musical performances, performances, devised, and promenade shows. She has also worked in film and television. Her debut as a writer came in 2000 with plays that received awards and distinctions in playwriting competitions. A few years later (2004), her first novel for children and young adults, "Dreamkeepers," was published and awarded the State Prize. This was followed by more books and plays that brought further accolades, awards, and much love from both young and adult readers (and audiences). Invited by "The Greek Play Project," she represents Greece in the "Think Tank" of playwrights in an international program by the Union of European Theatres. She is a founding member of the performance group "The Other Side" and the record label "Puzzlemusik." She teaches theatre and creative writing (to both young and adults) and, of course, continues to write.
