Panagiotis A. Laimos

Panagiotis Lemos was born in 1931 in Oinousses, Chios. He attended the Oinousses elementary school and then the Chios high school. In 1948, he went to England, where he studied at the renowned University of Durham in Newcastle and earned degrees in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He worked as a naval architect at a shipping office in London and oversaw shipbuilding projects in Japan and Yugoslavia from 1956 to 1964. In 1964, he established his own office, which initially operated as a technical office, and soon after entered the shipping industry. Today, he owns and manages cargo vessels. Alongside his maritime activities, he has maintained a particularly strong and significant connection with his island, Oinousses. Additionally, due to his great love for his island, he served as President of the Oinousses Nautical Club, the Oinoussian Association of London, and other organizations. He wrote his first book "The Rich and the Contented" in 1982, followed by "It Happened at Sea" in 2001, and has already completed his third book.
