
Serjio Pitol
Sergio Pitol was born in Mexico in 1933. An author who cannot be easily classified into any particular literary school, he has written short stories, novels, and essays. He is also well-known for his translations of works by Conrad, Gombrowicz, James, and many other English, Italian, Polish, and Russian authors. A cosmopolitan figure, he has lived in Europe and China and has worked as a diplomat in Warsaw, Budapest, Paris, Moscow, and Prague. His most famous work is "The Carnival Trilogy," which consists of the novels "The Love Parade" (1984), "The Taming of the Divine Flamingo" (1989), and "Marital Life" (1991).
