Maria Ioannou

Maria Ioannou was born in a village in Cyprus in December 1968. She studied at the Faculty of Philosophy in Athens and later earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Cyprus. She holds a master's degree in Communication. She has published two poetry collections and has written short stories and poems that have won awards in nationwide competitions. Additionally, she authored a play on the theme of violence against women, which was staged with the support of the National Mechanism for Women's Rights. She has two great loves: her daughter Iphigenia and her dog Otto.
