Tasos Kontogiannidis
Tasos Kontogiannidis was born in the border village of Komnina, Xanthi. He completed his secondary education at Stavroupoli High School, studied at Panteion University and the Faculty of Law, and attended journalism seminars in Athens and the USA. He has been honored with a commendation from the Academy of Athens and awards from the "Estia" of Nea Smyrni and the German radio station "Deutsche Welle" for various works. He worked as a reporter for numerous Athenian newspapers, magazines, and radio stations, at the television station "Mega Channel," and as a correspondent for major provincial newspapers and Greek newspapers in New York. His various historical features, broadcasted by Mega, achieved great success with very high viewership ratings. He is a member of the Journalists' Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers (ESIEA). He has authored historical and political books, one of which, "The Crime at Harokopou," became a bestseller. In 2016, he was honored by the Municipality of Xanthi with the city's gold medal for his contributions to humanity and society.
