David Abulafia

David Abulafia was born in 1949 and is one of the most renowned English historians, specializing in Italy, Spain, and other Mediterranean countries during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Since 2000, he has been a Professor of Mediterranean History at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College at the same university since 1974. He has served as the Chair of the History Faculty at Cambridge and was elected a member of the University of Cambridge's Senate in 2008. Additionally, he is a member of the British Academy and the European Academy. His book "The Great Sea" became a commercial success in England immediately upon its release and received enthusiastic reviews from academics worldwide.
