Joanna Hines wrote her first two-page epic featuring hamster heroes at the age of four and has not stopped writing since. She currently resides in London, where she was born, and enjoys a wonderful view of the Thames. She is a board member of The Royal Literary Fund at St Mary's College, University of Surrey. She is also a member of the Crime Writers' Association committee and the Mystery Women group, a collective of writers and readers dedicated to outstanding crime literature. She has a stepdaughter, a daughter, and a son from her marriage to Canadian poet Derek Hines. Joanna was one of the first authors to receive the WH Smith's Fresh Talent Award for her debut novel, "Dora's Room," and has since published nine novels. Her book "Murder on the Island" was adapted for British television under the title "Carla" as a mini-series, receiving excellent reviews.
