
Antonis Alimpertis
He was born in Tinos on August 10, 1943, in a village nestled in greenery, Perastra. He spent his childhood in the village. After studying in Athens and France, he obtained a teaching diploma from the French Academy of Athens and a diploma in comparative literature from the University of Nanterre in Paris. He worked for 36 years as a French teacher at the French Institute in Heraklion, Crete, and at the Ursuline School in Athens. Alongside his teaching career, he was intensely involved with nature, particularly the plants of Greece, focusing on orchids, and has published two books to date: "The Orchids of Crete and Karpathos" and "The Samaria Gorge and Its Plants." Now retired, he is dedicated exclusively to research in nature and writing books of various genres.
