
Dimitris G. Magriplis
Dimitris G. Magriplis was born and raised in Athens. He studied political science at Panteion University and social theology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 1999, he earned his doctorate in sociology from Panteion University. His doctoral thesis was titled: "Politics and Religion in Byzantine Society: An Attempt at Sociological Analysis of the Zealot Movement (1342-1349 AD)." He has participated as a researcher in European programs and taught sociology at the National School of Public Administration and the Technological Educational Institute of Kalamata. He is the president of the Association of Greek Sociologists (Messinia branch) and the chairman of the Administrative Committee of the Rehabilitation Center for Physical and Social Recovery of Messinia (K.A.F.K.A. Filiatra). His articles and comments have been published in scientific journals, the daily press, and magazines such as "Social Work," "Review of Social Sciences," "Byzantine Domicile," "New Hearth," "Religiology," "Psychiatric Notebooks," "Meeting," "Assembly," "Sociogram," among others. He made his literary debut in 2007 under the pseudonym Fotis Adamis, with the book "Gardening Lessons and Other Stories," published by Sokolis-Kouledakis. In 2010, his first poetry collection, "In the Quarters of Time," was published in a joint volume with visual artist Angeliki Kokonaki, "Color and Word," in the "Awareness" series by An. Stamoulis Publications in Thessaloniki. In 2011, his second short story collection titled "Hidden Guilts" was released by the same publisher. His short stories are available online.
He has a rich body of work both as a columnist (in newspapers, scientific, and literary magazines) and as an editor of scientific and literary texts and books.
