Alexandra Mpakonika

Alexandra Bakonika was born in Thessaloniki, where she currently resides. She attended the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, though she did not complete her studies. She worked as an English teacher. Her poems were first published in the magazine "Diagonal" in 1983. She has published eight poetry collections. She has also contributed critical essays to both print and online magazines. Her anthologized poems, translated into English, have been published in books in New Delhi, India, and Vancouver, Canada. Additionally, her poems have been translated into German, Swedish, Croatian, and Albanian.
