Alexandra CHalkia

Alexandra Halkias completed her doctoral dissertation at the Department of Communication at the University of California, San Diego. She continued her research at Harvard University and taught at MIT. Currently, she is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology at Panteion University. She is the author of "The Empty Cradle of Democracy" (Duke University Press, 2004), which was translated by Alexandria Publications ("Το άδειο λίκνο της δημοκρατίας", 2007). She has published articles in Greek and international academic journals and co-edited, with Martha Michailidou, the volume "The Production of the Social Body" (Katarti/Dini Publications, 2005).
