
Foteini Papastamatiou - Kavvada
Fotini Papastamatiou-Kavvada was born in Aigaleo, Attica, in 1959. She hails from Samos with roots in Asia Minor. She is the daughter of the painter and iconographer Stamatis Papastamatiou. She lived in Paris for four years, where she studied French and child psychology at the University of Paris X Nanterre. She is a nursery school teacher and has been working for 24 years in the municipal daycare centers of Ilion. She is married to Andreas Kavvadas, and they have two children. She has received the Debut Author Novel Award from the "Café of Ideas" for her work "Vigil" and the Contemporary Greek Novel Award for her work "The World of Loss," from the same institution. She is a member of the National Society of Greek Writers and the DEEL.
