Athina Kalokairinou - Anagnostopoulou
Athena Kalokairinou-Anagnostopoulou is an Assistant Professor of Community Nursing at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 1992, she was awarded a Ph.D. in Nursing from the Nursing Department of the same university. From July 1982 to November 1998, she worked as a nurse (in medical and surgical departments, outpatient clinics, emergency departments, and infection control) and as a head nurse (in ICU and Endoscopy) at the Konstantopouleio General Hospital of Nea Ionia "Agia Olga." She served as a visiting professor in the Nursing Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens from 1992 to 1998, teaching Community Nursing to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Since December 1998, she has been a faculty member of the Nursing Department at the same university, elected in the field of "Community Nursing." She has an extensive body of work in both Greek and international publications and research. In recent years, her focus has been on the development of applied community nursing research (home healthcare, school nursing, transcultural nursing). She is an elected member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Nurses of Greece (for 12 years) and a country representative in European and International Working Groups (ICN-WENR).
