
Eya Roumeliotou - Darsinou
Evangelia Darsinou-Roumeliotou was born in Nemea, Corinthia, where she completed her secondary education. She studied Social Work and later worked as a kindergarten teacher and director at a daycare center in Peristeri. From a young age, alongside her writing, she engaged with women's issues and worked towards promoting equality, initially as a regular member of women's associations and later as a board member. Additionally, she contributed articles to literary magazines and newspapers.
In 1999, her first book, a collection of short stories titled "Loneliness, Your Name is Woman," was published. In 2004, her children's narrative "Grandma's Vasilopita and Other Scents" was published by Vergina Publications.
She is a member of the Women's Literary Society, the Society of Greek Writers, and various literary associations, while continuing her activism in social movements. She actively participates as a board member of women's organizations promoting equality and social justice. Since 2002, she has served as the President of the local branch of the "Association for Women's Rights" based in Peristeri.
She has participated in numerous literary competitions, earning many awards and accolades
