Adam Phillips

Adam Phillips (Cardiff, 1954) was born in Cardiff, Great Britain. He is a child psychologist-psychotherapist, essayist, and literary critic. He served as the head child psychotherapist at Charing Cross Hospital in London for eight years. He worked for seventeen years in the British NHS and taught as a visiting professor at the University of York. He is the scientific editor of the English translation of Freud's works published by Penguin and a regular contributor to the London Review of Books. He has written more than ten books, in which he explores psychoanalysis in various ways. Among them are: "On Kissing, Tickling and Being Bored," "Monogamy," "Terrors and Experts," "Promises, Promises," "Going Sane," and "On Kindness."
