Boris Pasternak

Boris Pasternak (1890-1960) was born in Moscow and gained recognition as a poet with his work "My Sister, Life." His famous novel "Doctor Zhivago," published in Italian translation in 1957, sparked intense controversy and criticism in his homeland. As a result, when he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1958, he chose to decline it and spent the last years of his life in relative isolation.
