Kathryn Lasky

Kathryn Lasky lives with her husband in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She has written numerous educational books and novels, most of which have received awards. Owls have always fascinated her. A few years ago, she began conducting extensive research on these birds and their behavior—what they eat, how they fly, how they build or find their nests. She intended to one day write an educational, illustrated book about owls, with photographs taken by her husband. However, she realized that this would be difficult since owls are nocturnal animals and hard to spot. So, she decided to write a fantasy book about a world where owls talk, think, dream, and seek their destiny on the wings of adventure...
