Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Chimamanda Adichie grew up in Nigeria. She studied for two years at the Medical School of the University of Nigeria before moving to the United States. She was awarded the O. Henry Prize in 2003 and was a finalist for the Caine Prize for African Writing in 2002 and the David Wong Short Story Award PEN USA. Her novel "Purple Hibiscus" received the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book and was shortlisted for the Orange Prize. Her novel "Half of a Yellow Sun" won the Orange Prize in 2007. Adichie's works have been published in literary magazines such as Zoetrope and the Iowa Review. Today, Chimamanda Adichie divides her time between the United States and Nigeria and is pursuing graduate studies at Yale University.
